Coronavirus Updates

Hello,

Today we are announcing our Covid health and safety protocol for the Postponed 2020 Chico Review. It is our goal to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all attendees, speakers, and reviewers while providing the intimate experience Chico Review is known for.

All attendees, speakers, and reviewers must show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test result obtained within 72 hours of the event. Unvaccinated individuals are required to wear face masks during event activities in the conference center. Chico will have masks available. Those who are vaccinated are not required to wear face coverings but may do so at their discretion.

Proof of vaccination may be established by sending a photo of your vaccination card to Caitie@chicoreview.com or at the check-in table upon arrival at Chico Hot Springs. Additional details of the protocol are listed below.

Vaccination and Facemasks

Attendees who can show proof of vaccination, are not required to wear face masks. Unvaccinated individuals must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test result obtained within 72 hours of the event to attend and must wear a face mask during all event activities in the conference center.

Hand Sanitizing Stations

Hand sanitizing stations are located around the conference center and Resort.

Enhanced Cleaning and EPA Protocol

Chico Hot Springs Resort has established a protocol to follow an EPA-recommended cleaning process for not only guest rooms and cabins, but for the property as a whole. This process includes using EPA-approved disinfectants on all hard surfaces and allowing the solution to sit for the required amount of time. Additionally, their housekeepers allow for extra time during the housekeeping process, paying close attention to all touch points including light switches, fans, shade pulls, faucet handles and appliances. Additional information on the Resort’s Covid protocol can be found on their website.

If you have any questions or concerns about this procedure please feel free to reach out to us directly. As a reminder, we released a COVID-19 addendum last week for attendees who may be impacted by severe health concerns or international travel restrictions. You can find the addendum on our website. Learn more.

Thank you for sticking with us through this crazy time. We are doing everything we can to ensure our attendees, speakers, and reviewers are taken care of.

Covid-19 Policy Addendum:

As the global Coronavirus situation is constantly evolving, we are introducing a Covid-19 Addendum for those 2020 attendees who have been impacted by factors outside of their control including: governmental travel bans or individuals who are at high health-risk. If you are an attendee who has paid full tuition and lodging for the 2020 Chico Review, but are unable to attend the postponed dates due to the reasons listed, you are eligible to fully transfer your attendance credentials (tuition and lodging) toward a future Chico Hot Springs Portfolio Review for up to 2 subsequent years (March 21-27, 2022 or March 20-26, 2023). This addendum will be adopted for our 2022 event as well. This is a whole new world for all of us, our team has worked diligently to find the best solutions for everyone involved as this crisis has continued to evolve over the past 15 months. We are doing our best to reconcile the situation.

By offering this deferral option, we are ensuring everyone has the opportunity to take part in the full value of what they paid for: portfolio reviews, artist lectures, panel discussions, meals, happy hours, evening programming, accommodations and more.

Thank you for your support.

*2020 Postponed Chico Review Covid-19 Addendum:

If you are an attendee who has paid their full tuition and lodging for the 2020 Chico Review, but are unable to attend the rescheduled dates due to the reasons listed below, you can fully transfer your attendance credentials (tuition and lodging) toward any future Chico Hot Springs Portfolio for up to2 subsequent years (March 21-27, 2022 or March 20-26, 2023).

International Travel Bans
If you are prevented from traveling to the event within 6 weeks of the start date due to an international, government imposed travel ban related to Covid-19, you qualify to transfer your attendance credentials. We require proof of a Travel Ban from the applicable government messaging. Vaccine or testing requirements to travel do not constitute a travel ban. Travel advisories do not constitute a travel ban.

High risk Individuals
If you’re in a high-risk group, you qualify to transfer your attendance credentials. Please provide medical proof in alignment with the CDC's definition of moderately to severely immunocompromised people which include:

  • Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood

  • Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system

  • Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system

  • Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)

  • Advanced or untreated HIV infection

  • Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response

Thank you for your patience.

It has been incredibly encouraging to see how our community (speakers, reviewers, and attendees) has been so supportive and positive during this unfortunate turn of events. We have spent the last few weeks working with Chico and our speakers / reviewers in an effort to reschedule the 2020 Chico Review. Thankfully we’ve been able to figure out some new dates that work for everyone.

Chico Review Rescheduled Dates: October 18-24, 2021

The event will be identical to what we were planning this year (except postponed by 18 months). All arrival times, locations, event schedule, and accommodation selections will remain the same but shifted to the new dates. All fees, tuition payments and accommodation payments will transfer completely. We will be updating the 2020 Attendee website with the new dates, shuttle times, and tips on how to plan your trip.

Arrival date: Monday (10/18/2021)
Departure date: Sunday (10/24/2021)

Monday (10/18/20 21) and Sunday (10/24/2021) are considered arrival and departure days. Lectures, panel discussions, and reviews will take place starting Tuesday (10/19/2021) and concluding Saturday (10/23/2021).

In the meantime, please feel free to contact me directly at info@chicoreview.com if you have any questions.

Best, Jesse

Along with the rest of the world, we have been closely monitoring the escalating spread of coronavirus COVID-19. In light of recent national and international measures taken to contain the spread, and in compliance with the Montana stay at home directive, we have decided to postpone the 2020 Chico Review. Our primary concern is for the health and safety of our attendees, speakers, and staff. Our staff is working closely with the Chico staff to find an appropriate solution. We ask for your patience during this unfortunate turn of events. We’ll be in touch soon with more information.

Sincerely, Jesse & the Chico Review Crew

March 9th, 2020

Currently the global community is carefully watching and preparing for the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). We’ve received and responded to several emails but wanted to send you all an email addressing some of the proactive steps we’re taking.

We have a fabulous event planned and will proceed while adhering to the guidelines from government agencies and our public health partners, including the CDC, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Montana Department of Public Health and Safety. It is important to note that there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus in Montana at this time. Additionally, health and safety officials have not requested the cancellation or postponement of any gatherings, large or small.

We are actively monitoring the situation and do not plan to postpone or cancel the 2020 Chico Review.

Here are some of the steps we are taking as well as the below steps that Chico Hot Springs is taking.

  • We are following the recommendations and guidelines outlined by both the United States and Montana Centers for Disease Control.

  • We are in contact with Bozeman Health Deaconess Hospital and their COVID-19 Response Team.

  • Hygiene and etiquette recommendations will be distributed to all staff and attendees.

  • Hand sanitizer and tissues for event staff and attendees will be available in the conference center.

  • We will sanitize mics in between lectures and panels.

  • We will have disinfectant wipes available for use on chairs and tables.

We would like to reiterate the current recommendations provided by the CDC:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw away the tissue.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

  • Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a facemask.

    • CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.

    • Face masks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if your hands are visibly dirty.

Please note that when traveling abroad or here in the U.S., one of the most effective measures for stopping any infectious disease is frequent and thorough hand washing. Please join the effort and wash your hands a lot! The Centers for Disease Control has an entire webpage on the science behind hand washing. Check it out! There’s more to it than you would think.

We look forward to seeing each of you on April 6th!
